Waiting for Provision

I’ve been pondering the story of Abraham and Isaac lately. I considered how God could ever ask such a thing if Abraham, and if he would ever ask it of me. We know that God provided a sacrifice instead of Isaac, exemplifying Jesus many years later. But what if God asks a sacrifice of me now? In 2017. And what if he doesn’t provide the lamb?

As I wrestle with that, I choose to trust that He does what He says He will do. And when Satan whispers doubts in my ear and stirs up anxiety in my heart, I’ve developed 3 mantras taken from scripture to take my thoughts captive and respond with truth, life, peace, joy.
3 Mantras for When You Are Waiting for Provision.

I trust you to work all things for good. (Romans 8:28)

You have heard my fears, you know me and what is best for me. (Jeremiah 1:5-7)

You comfort me, you hold my tears, you bind my wounds. (Psalm 34:18)
